How do you support and empower yourself through seasonal changes?
Use the energy burst that inevitably comes with every change of season to honor and propel yourself in a direction of more wholeness and more thriving. Most of the time, all we need to do is to make space for it in our daily lives. Our bodies are wise, with an innate connection to the cosmos. Once we make room, we become part of the new season, and the new season finds its way in us.
- For a period of one to two weeks (or as long as you wish) reduce or completely eliminate caffeine from coffee to green tea an d everything in between. Reduce or eliminate any other stimulants. All stimulants such as caffeine prevent us from being in tune with the natural rhythms of our body, and often insulate the connection to the bigger rhythm of the wild.
- Reduce or eliminate alcohol, fizzy drinks (including kombucha), fried, sugary and starchy foods. Focus on eating simple whole foods and as little processed foods as possible.
- Follow with the same practice in other areas of your life. Reduce daily distractions of the mind – from social media to conventional media – focus on being present with your life and relationships, refresh your meditation and movement practice, refresh your creative practices and crafts, even if it is just for 20 mins each day, and spend time in nature, daily if possible.
- Reconnect with the elements of air, fire, water and earth in your own unique ways. Create a small altar to signify the seasonal changes in your life, creating intentions for your dreams and points of focus.
