Five Ingredient “Cool Down” Smoothie
When the sun is high, and the weather is sweet… food becomes less about dense meals and more about cooling and light refreshments that energise and nourish at the same time.
When it is super hot, this is our go-to drink. We are sure you will love it too for its simplicity and effectiveness.
- about 200g of watermelon, fresh
- 60g of frozen berries (either raspberries, strawberries, wild blueberries or cherries)
- 2 heap tablespoons of tahini (feel free to replace with another favourite of yours)
- 40g-50g of cacao nibs
- pinch of sea salt
- a handful of ice cubes (depending on how hot it is!)
Start by scooping out the watermelon and adding rough chunks to a high-speed blender. Add ice, couple of tablespoons of tahini or another seed/nut butter of your choice, frozen berries, cacao nibs, and a pinch of salt. Blend well, using the water from watermelon to start off the blending process. You might need the help of a push stick, depending on what blender you are using. If you are the lover of sweeter things, you might want to add a small glug of maple syrup or any other liquid sweetener you have handy.
