Watermelon & Blue Spirulina Smoothie

While watermelon is just great on its own and the best way to enjoy the watermelon is just to eat it as it is, sometimes you may be after some entertainment – a special treat – and this beautiful, super quick drink with amazing benefits for your thyroid, upper centres of your energetic being, is just right. Three ingredients elevate the regular watermelon into blue magic. It is a special, wild treat.

 

Ingredients

ServesĀ 2-4

1 small or 1/2 large watermelon (enough to fill 2 litre blender jug) 600-800g

40g hulled hemp seed

20g blue spirulina (or regular spirulina)

 

Method 1 (watermelon milk)

Add about 300-400g of chopped watermelon in a blender jug, push it down with a push stick if you have one, add hulled hemp seed and blend well.

Method 2 (blue watermelon)

Add about 300-400g of chopped watermelon in a blender jug, push it down with a push stick if you have one, add blue or regular spirulina, blend well.

Serve immediately, feel free to layer the watermelon milk with blue watermelon to make blue milk! It is a treat!
